In order to guarantee the quality of our wines we gradually started looking at acquiring our own vineyards. The choice of area fell on the Balaton region, and over the past few years we have bit by bit built up a winery in Nagyrada. After a few years we now have 100 hectares of prime vineyards overlooking the Balaton Lake. This was an area formerly known for its white wine production. After analysing the climate and soil, we however believed there would be a great potential also to produce red wine. Many people thought of us as "mad" when we began this venture. But over the years, we have proven that with meticulous work in the vineyard and winery, this area surely can make top class wines. Both for white and red. Under the watchful eye of our Chilean born winemaker, Luis Fuentes, we have showed that Hungary truly can make interesting wines, highly competitive on the world market. By understanding our history and taking pride in it and the "classical" Hungarian grapes, we have slowly introduced international grapes into the vineyards. Our production today consists of Rizlingszilvani, Grüner Veltliner, Nectar, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc for the whites, and Kékfrankos, Zweigelt, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Malbec and Syrah for the reds.In the spring of 2006 we opened up our NEW winery facility. Here we have state of the art technology and production. Everything from pneumatic presses to all temperature controlled steel tanks for the fermentation. |
Wine today is simply not any longer "just" a beverage, it’s a lifestyle. Many consumers take great interest in finding new and exciting products. Discovering new markets and wines. This means that we as producers need to have "the ear to the ground" and listen to what the world market wants. This means everything from the style of wine, to how the wine is packaged. With new lifestyle patterns follows also the new packages. This is a process that we find highly interesting, and we have a firm goal to be in the forefront of tomorrows products. We are happy to invite You to try the results of our work. The new taste of Hungary.
